Verify, complete onboarding, receive approval, then evaluate
A new reviewer account does not enter the Evaluation queue immediately. Email verification, the current Terms, a complete reviewer profile, and explicit platform-admin approval are separate gates. Active Standard reviewers can earn the task-pinned USD-equivalent fal-credit value for each first fully accepted decision; guests do not earn rewards.
| State | What the reviewer sees | What an administrator can do |
|---|---|---|
| Unverified or incomplete | Verification or onboarding guidance; no Evaluation queue | Wait for the reviewer to complete the required steps |
| Awaiting approval | A clear pending screen; no tasks, projects, model identities, or results | Review the profile and aggregate shared-device flag, then approve or leave pending |
| Active | Eligible assigned Evaluations and the reviewer’s own fal-credit account | Change the workspace role, grant admin capability, suspend access, or make an audited credit adjustment |
| Suspended | No Evaluation assignments | Restore the account after an audited review |
Approval is explicit
Registering or verifying an email does not approve a Standard reviewer. The reviewer first accepts the current Terms and completes the required profile. The platform then shows an Awaiting approval state until a platform admin makes an audited decision.
Approval activates a pending account as Standard. A later role change does not bypass account status, and suspension closes active Sessions as well as future queue access.
Admin and superadmin capability
Platform administration is separate from the Standard, Creative Engineer, and MLOpt workspace roles. An active verified fal.ai admin can grant or revoke admin capability with a recorded reason. Admins cannot remove their own final capability.
The bootstrap superadmin is the immutable first trusted platform administrator. That account cannot be suspended, deleted, demoted, or stripped of admin capability through the application or direct database paths.
How fal credits are earned
- Task-pinned value
At 1x, an active Standard reviewer earns $0.04 USD-equivalent fal credit for the first fully accepted win, tie, or rating on one assignment. MLOpt pins 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, or 3x when creating the Evaluation Task; omitted values default to 1x.
- Concrete examples
Five hundred fully accepted, reward-eligible decisions equal $20 of product credit at 1x or $40 at 2x. The task multiplier is frozen with the task instead of changing after work is submitted.
- Exactly once
The immutable ledger records exact USD micros. A retry, revised event, duplicate request, or second submission for the same assignment cannot mint another reward.
- Binary reward
Analysis weighting is continuous, but reward eligibility is binary. A degraded decision can retain a positive analysis weight while earning zero reward. Only a fully accepted terminal behavior-quality state earns the task reward.
- No reward for excluded work
A skip, rejected decision, retry, abandoned assignment, failed attention control, or otherwise ineligible event earns no reward.
- Active Standard only
An unclaimed guest earns no reward. Claiming into a verified pending account preserves the work but still earns nothing until the account is activated as Standard under the task and quality rules.
- Private account
A reviewer sees only their own exact balance and recent immutable ledger entries. Other reviewers’ balances remain private.
Credits are product value, not cash
The fal-credit balance records USD-equivalent product credit earned for accepted evaluation work inside GenMedia. It is not cash, a bank account, a fal.ai billing wallet, or a transferable token. It cannot be withdrawn or transferred. Administrative grants and revocations are bounded, audited, and cannot make a balance negative.
